PROJECT BRIEF

The City Place development consisted of the design and construction of a new high quality four storey office block, providing a clean working area to over 500 personnel. The majority of its structure was made up of glass, with panels extending from floor to ceiling on each level creating an open, spacious impression as well as providing plenty of natural daylight.

The building is built in accordance with modern environmentally-friendly standards and is highly self sustainable and energy efficient. However, energy efficiency is only acceptable when the design leads to a comfortable, healthy working environment. Underfloor heating was considered to be the natural choice for this construction, providing a significantly more cost effective and eco-friendly solution as opposed to the more traditional heating systems.

PROJECT SOLUTION

The underfloor installation comprised of our superior Ambiente Cliprail system, laid over a polythene separating layer and 80mm insulation on top of the concrete subfloor. The main office areas utilised an access floor allowing for services to run unhindered beneath. The Ambiflow underfloor heating pipe used has a 17mm diameter, with a 2mm wall thickness. It is a multi-layer pipe with an internal and external oxygen barrier. It is guaranteed for 30 years, although we would expect it to outlive the life of the building.

FACT

Love spending time with the family. I want those that work with me to enjoy their job and be inspired to achieve whilst making it fun. The average child laughs 300 times a day, adults only 15! Laugh more and live better!
