This stylish building provides 58 one and two bedroom extra-care apartments some specially equipped units for wheelchair users and day care and general support facilities for the elderly. Built for Gallions Housing Association in partnership with London Borough of Greenwich, this is the first project of its type in the Borough.

Built on a brownfield site in the commercial district of Thamesmead town and designed closely with the local authority’s urban designer and CABE panel the apartments offer state of the art facilities for residents, including Smart technologies. Built according to EcoHomes standards, the building features green and brown roofs and bio-fuel boilers. WMS were commissioned to design and install an underfloor heating system to provide maximum comfort conditions for the residents. The project used 4,400m2 of WMS cliprail system to secure 17mm diameter pipe to the floor insulation with a 65mm sand and cement screed laid over the UFH pipe - ready to take a variety of floor finishes.
