Environmental Impact

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.

WMS contributes further to a reduced carbon footprint by lowering the environmental impact of our components and systems as much as possible. We also utilise smart software technology during installation programmes. Planning to minimise journey times and make the best use of routes for our installation teams.

We also have a number of electric vehicles within our fleet further contributing in reducing our carbon footprint with every delivery and journey.

We are constantly reviewing and investing in new ways to continuously improve our use of materials, installation technology and energy efficiency. This substantial investment has increased our operational agility and enabled us to explore new and exciting product stream opportunities.

PEX pipework (used by the majority of the industry) has toxins in it that can only be burnt or buried due to the molecular cross-linking process. PE-RT (which is what we use) can be melted and recycled. Given that our pipe already has a 50 year warranty and plastic can be recycled 2 – 3 times, this allows for a single production to last more than 150 years!

With zero emissions and much lower operating temperatures than conventional heating systems, underfloor heating is a natural choice for use with heat pumps and emerging renewable technologies, especially important in readiness for the Future Home Standard and the change in Building Regulations.

A home with a heat pump and underfloor heating will be a zero carbon emission home.
