Legislation & Regulations regarding and relevant to underfloor heating systems
The Government’s Interim revision to Part L for the Future Homes Standard (the update to the Building Regulations and Part L) came into force June 2022.
These new ‘low temperature’ regulations mean the way we heat new builds are changing. Heating systems will now have to be designed with a maximum flow temperature of 55˚C .
UFH is perfectly suited to this requirement, in most instances we design around 45˚C (although this can vary between 35–55˚C dependent on a variety of factors), which is well within the requirement as it is more efficient for the system and will also have a more positive effect on homeowners bills.
Furthermore, the ultimate low temperature system would be UFH paired with a heat pump as both are designed to be low temperature technologies.

Since 2003 we have been developing our experience in designing, suppling and installing low temperature heating systems that link into a variety of heat sources. We work closely with heat pump providers taking a holistic viewpoint to ensure the maximum efficiency of the system through competent designs. We understand this is a daunting task for housebuilders and the timeline for it is shrinking! Whatever this means to you, we are here and can help you through the process.
If you need help with technical knowledge or system design, we have the experience to find a solution for you.
