WMS was founded in 2003 by the Cooper family and after 20 years is a leading supplier and installer of underfloor heating systems for new build developments in the UK.

In 2003 the Cooper founders had six decades of experience in the construction industry but faced with a challenge in the early 2000s of competition from overseas, the family diversified, worked hard and found a market opportunity in underfloor heating.

Operating from their garage, making endless phone calls, following up leads and making contacts, the Coopers secured their first installation in October 2003. From there, and with continued hard work, the business kept coming. Over the last two decades, WMS has gone from strength to strength. Helping developers, architects, consultants and local authorities deliver the best heating and cooling solutions through an unbeatable combination of design, reliability and service. WMS’s client portfolio includes such names as Lendlease, Landsec, Cala Homes, Berkeley Homes and Multiplex.

It was back in 2004 that WMS secured their first contract with Octagon Developments after they received an enquiry for the underfloor heating supply and fit for a large single detached property in Cockfosters, North London. This success was followed by many more.

At that time WMS were a new contractor on the underfloor heating scene and were eager to secure new business. Ashley and his team have continued to maintain their dedication to customer satisfaction and good service over the last 20 years.

“I started working for WMS in 2008 when they brought their first premises, and I worked as a labourer on the new building. When the building work finished Leon trained me up on laying floor insulation and then how to lay the underfloor heating pipe. I have really enjoyed installing underfloor heating at WMS and I’ve worked on some incredible sites. My favourite was a massive house in Virginia Water, so big you had to look at the plans to avoid getting lost! We must have installed over 30 rolls of UFH pipe on that project.

I’ve also enjoyed training up other installers at WMS and is really good seeing them grow. The last 15 years with WMS has gone very quickly but been great. Congratulations to WMS on their 20th anniversary!”
